Not every season of faith feels close. These verses were written by people in the dry stretches too.
// the word for this moment
“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?”
Psalm 42:1-2 (KJV)
“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.”
Psalm 63:1 (KJV)“...If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”
John 7:37-38 (KJV)Psalm 42 wasn't written from a mountaintop — it was written from genuine longing, by someone who felt distant and said so plainly, without performing closeness he didn't feel. The thirst itself is named honestly in Scripture, not hidden as a faith failure. If prayer feels dry right now, that dryness doesn't disqualify you from the verse. It's exactly who it was written for.
