When your mind and body are both racing, you don't need a long sermon. You need something to hold onto right now.
// the word for this moment
“In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.”
Psalm 94:19 (KJV)
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)Psalm 94:19 names exactly what panic feels like — a multitude of thoughts, racing, within. It doesn't ask you to stop the thoughts before God will meet you. It says comfort delights the soul right in the middle of that multitude. You don't have to calm down first to be met. You can be met in the middle of the racing, and let that be where the calming starts.
