Pain that doesn't resolve asks something different of you than pain that ends. These verses are for the long haul.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
“For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hidden his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.”
Psalm 22:24 (KJV)“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Romans 8:18 (KJV)Paul asked three times for his thorn to be removed — and the answer wasn't healing, it was grace sufficient for what remained. That's a harder answer than healing, and Scripture doesn't pretend otherwise. But the promise attached to it is real: My strength is made perfect specifically in weakness, not around it. The power of Christ rests on exactly the places where you have nothing left.
