This has sat with me today Job 21: 23-26 NIV “One person dies in full vigor, completely secure and at ease… Another dies in bitterness of soul, never having enjoyed anything good. Side by side they lie in the dust, and worms cover them both.” INSIGHT Job reminds us that life does not unfold the same way for everyone. Some people leave this world having experienced abundance, comfort and many good things, while others leave carrying pain, disappointment and unfulfilled desires. Yet there is one reality that awaits us all: we will return to the dust. That is not meant to make us hopeless. It is meant to make us intentional. Life is too brief to spend it consumed by comparison, bitterness, endless striving or postponing joy until everything is perfect. What matters is not simply what we accumulate, but how we steward the life God has entrusted to us. We cannot control how many days we have, how much another person has, or how their story unfolds. But we can choose what we do with the days we have been given. And perhaps the deeper question is not, “Have I enjoyed everything good?” but “Have I lived faithfully with what God has placed in my hands?” DEED Today, choose to live intentionally. Thank God for the life you have today. Release comparison. Forgive where bitterness has taken root. Enjoy the simple gifts you have been postponing. Love your people while you have them. Pursue what God has placed on your heart. Before the day ends, ask yourself: “If I were looking back on this season from the end of my life, would I be grateful for how I lived it?” Then make one choice today that your future self, and ultimately God, would be pleased with. Life is not promised to be long, but it is entrusted to us to be lived well. Blessings 🙏🏾
